Vacancy 15.12.2016

Don’t take it personally. We just want to weed out the ’nay sayers’ and the can’t doers. We are not looking for those high-investment, low return individuals who believe the world owes them a job.

At Context AS we do things differently.

Our focus is on creating value. That is not the same thing as making the most money. If you are who we are looking for, you will understand the difference. So if you are still reading you may just be the one.

Founded in 2004 as a combined architectural practice and environmental consultancy, our goal is to be involved in implementing the most innovative and influential projects within sustainable design.  Our focus in recent years has shifted away from direct commissions and increasingly towards developing our own sustainable projects and products.

bECOs (building ECO solutions) is one of these products. bECOs is a building system developed by Context to explore mass market implementation of high end environmental standards of building. bECOs delivers industrially manufactured buildings based on local resources, high architectural quality and superior environmental performance.

Due to an increase in demand for and interest around bECOs, we are now looking to expand our in-house team. Specifically, we would like to hear from a fully qualified architect with 1-5 years’ experience who shares our values, our interests for sustainable design and our passion for life.

Initially we are offering a one-year engagement, with the possibility of extension. A good grasp of the Norwegian language, both written and spoken, is a requirement.

We are located in the UNESCO world Heritage Site of Rjukan, at the edge of the Hardangervidda National Park, approx. 2.5 hours drive from Oslo. We work throughout Norway and within the Nordic countries, so mobility and a love of the outdoors are an advantage.

Rjukan is known for its extreme sports. It is one of the best locations in Northern Europe for ice climbing, boasts of having Norway’s highest permanent bungee jump over Vemork, and is home to Southern Norway’s highest mountain, Gaustatoppen and Gaustablikk ski centre.

We are hiring, and we are looking for the best. So if you think you have what it takes to join us please send your CV to and tell us why.
